Introduction To Spirometry
Introduction to
the operation of the Spiro meter and the techniques needed to obtain
the quality Spirograms necessary for the accurate diagnosis of
pulmonary conditions. The training receive in this course will
familiarize an individual with the basic techniques of spirometry.
Since very few individuals have this skill a Certificate of
Completion from this course would be a favorable addition to a
person’s resume’. The course will include;
- Course
Introduction; pertinent anatomy & physiology; and terminology of
the Respiratory System.
- Introduction
to Pulmonary Function Testing, terminology, and lung capacities
and volumes.
- Introduction
to Spirometry, test patient care, and patient instruction.
- Spirometry
operation, good maneuver procedures, patient coaching, and
quality control.
- Final
written and practical examinations.

Home Work Time Required
- 1-2 hours a
night 2-4 nights a week
Quizzes
A short quiz will
be given on each subject. Passing score for quizzes will be 80%
