Clinical
Internship
Students are not guaranteed a clinical
internship at a medical
facility. This training program has
contracts with medical facilities at various locations in Northern California to assist in making required
clinical internships
conditionally available to students who have completed both the
Phlebotomy
Didactic and Phlebotomy Practical courses. Each medical facility has
complete
and total control over the acceptance of students for clinical
internships. The
school and medical facilities may mandate many or all of the following
conditions as requirements for acceptance in a clinical internship;
- Certificate of Completion
for the Phlebotomy Didactic course
- Certificate of completion
for the Phlebotomy Practical Course
- The Clinical Internship at
a medical may require a course fee
- Proof of high achievement
in class attitude and participation
- Proof of Student Liability
Insurance, (1,000,000-2,000,000)
- Proof of medical insurance
coverage
- Evidence of last physical
exam
- Proof of negative result
to an 8 panel drug screen
- Proof of a negative TB test
- Chest radiographic if past
positive TST test history
- Proof of one Rubella
vaccination after 1st birthday if born before 1957
- Proof of two Rubeola
vaccinations after 1st birthday if born before 1957
- Proof of Chicken Pox
vaccination or History
- Proof of Hepatitis B
vaccines or titer or a signed statement of refusal
- Proof of Tetanus and
Diphtheria inoculations within ten years
- Sign and accept conditions
of the “Confidentiality Statement”
- Conform to all applicable
policies, procedures, regulations and such other requirements and
restrictions imposed by school or hospital
- Be responsible for his or
her own support, maintenance, transportation and living quarters while
participating in school or the clinical internship
- Student must adhere to the
clinical internship schedule given by the hospital
- The school does require a
$100 clinical internship application fee
- Failure to follow these
guidelines when asked will bar the student from participation

Clinical Internships are a privilege and not a right
